Happy Sunday!

I hope you are all enjoying the summer. It's been a really hot couple of days, perfect for the beach or the pool!  Last night I blasted the AC and made this LO of my sister Jordania and I.

Love the Lullaby Lane collection by Webster's Pages (which I used here). Because the paper was a little too bright, I covered it with Glimmer Mist in Creme De Cocoa. I also border punched a few stips of black cardstock using the MS edge punch and then cut the scallops out and placed them behind the paper. Love the effect! 

The berries you see here were from the floral department at Michael's. I just bought a bundle and pulled out what I needed.

The leaves are from Michael's as well (bridal department). They were also too bright so I inked them with Old Paper Distress Inks and edged them with Shabby Shutters.

I'm Back!

As I told you in my previous post, my family and I spent a fun-filled week in Disney World. It was soooo much fun! There was lots to do, and the kids enjoyed it tremendouly! Here's a semi-decent family photo taken at Magic Kingdom. Not too many of those, ever wish you could travel with your own personal paparazzi? LOL!

So, in between unpacking and lots of super fun laundry, I took a break to create this LO and share it with you. I made it for an online challenge that called for us to scrap vintage photos.

That's a photo of my mom and I back in the Dominican Republic. I used Webster's Pages Life's Portrait papers, Tim Holtz and lots of Prima bling and flowers on  this LO.

The Tattered Angels clock fit perfectly around the Tim Holtz clock face. I just added some Glimmer Mist and Distress Ink to make it coordinate with the rest of my project.

I love adding lace to my pages! I adhered a piece of black lace to the corner here to mask the colorful pattern on the back of the paper and tucked some flowers and sparklers right underneath.

Of course, it wouldn't be WP without flowers, birds and cages! I did some fussy cutting and added Crackle Accents to these and let them peek from behind the lace.

Baby LOs

I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful holiday weekend with family and friends. I'm actually in the middle of packing, we're heading to Florida! They are so excited to be going to Disneyworld for the first time! Last minute planning was a little overwhelming but nothing relaxes me more than spending some time in my scrapbooking room so I sneaked some time to create and this is what I came up with...

Expecting You

For this quick and easy page, I dug into my old Basic Grey stash and created a LO with a photo taken when I was 8 months pregnant with Dylan. (Yikes! did you see my nose?!) I added one of my trinket pins for which I posted a tutorial a while back, as well as some Tim Holtz embellies.

Sweet Slumber

This one was a little more intricate but so much fun to make! Webster's Pages is just so inspiring that it's hard to stop.

I cut out a 5x7 photo to get rid of the background noise then used Pop-dots to give it a 3D effect. I brushed the PP on the background with gesso to give a more ethereal look. I also used hemp thread and needle to do some stitching. For the title, I painted raw chipboard letters with Crackle Paint, inked them and covered them with Crackle Accents to prevent flaking. The giant pearls are from Michael's floral section. This was a fun one! Here are a few more close-ups...

June Dress Form Tag Swap

This month I participated in my first tag swap. It was so much fun! The swap was hosted by Marie over at The Pretty Paper Boutique. Our challenge was to make a tag that included a dress form, stitching and items that would be found at a sewing shop.

I wanted  to make my tag functional so I designed a corset-style pouch so the recipient would have the choice of using it as a card, or even as a pocket or page in a mini album. To make it shabby chic, I used products by Girl Paperie's Paper Girl collection. Thanks so much for hosting Marie, this was so much fun! I can't wait to get my tags from the other talented ladies in my group!
