Another Altered Canvas Project

Hello crafty friends! This is a LO on canvas I created as a present for my sister. To make this project I used Webster's Pages Seaside Retreat and some Prima flowers and a butterfly. I also added a couple of gold buttons as accents.

To create a foundation for my project, I coated the entire canvas with two coats of gesso and lots of TH Distress inks. I also stamped the sides with navy blue CTMH ink.

I explain more my creative process in the following video:

Have a crafy week! Thanks so much for visiting today!

3 Months LO + Jenni Bowlin Doop

I went to AC Moore this past Friday, and was thrilled to find out they now carry Bo Bunny and brand new Prima goodies. I stocked up and went home to play! This is my creation...

I did LOTS of distressing for this LO starting with edging all papers and adding white paint. I also created these flowers using ripped paper from an old recycled book. I've also been adding feathers to everything I make and this was no exception, LOL! I went a little overboard I think but I'm pleased with the outcome. Here are some close ups...

The next thing I wanted to share with you is my Jenni Bowlin vintage trinket pin doop. This is quick and easy! All you have to do is:

1.Get a corsage pin from the wedding section at your craft store.

2.You can either color the head of the pin with alcohol inks, or a brush tip marker, or leave it as is with its pearl head!

3.Slide in a slider bead. This can be a shaped bead such as a butterfly or heart, or a vintage bead like the one I used.

3.Finish off with a small glass bead to hold things together. If necessary, add a drop of Glossy Accents and let dry.

4. That's it! These make darling embellishments and add the finishing touch to your flowers. I hope you give it a try, these are quick and fun to make.
This is what mine look like...

April Showers

Hey there! So I went from vintage and distressed to pink and whimsical with today's project. This is a LO I started a couple of weeks ago and finally got to finish it.

To make the clouds, I cut the images on white cardstock with my Paper Pups Cricut cartridge, then ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder (thanks Mayra!). I then inked the whole thing with Broken China Distress Ink and edged it with CatEye chalk ink in powder blue. Some of the clouds were glued directly onto the paper and others were adhered using pop dots to add dimension. I really like how they came out!

All of the chipboard elements here came from the Melissa Frances Spring Fling embellishment set and painted with Pebbles paint in various colors. They were all topped with Stickles in Stardust.

To make the title, I cut it twice. Once on cardboard (recycled cereal boxes) and the second time on cardstock. I then adhered those together, inked them and added Stardust Stickles.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the week! Thanks for visiting!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello Crafty Ladies!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you. I hope you enjoyed this day with your families. I wanted to share with you a project I created for my mother. I titled it 'Amor De Madre', which translates to 'A Mother's Love'. I made her an interactive altered canvas piece that will display a 5x7 photo and also includes a detachable photo wallet. Because it would be hanging on the wall, I went with neutral colors to match her house decor. I had so much fun using vintage supplies and techniques!

The photo wallet on the lower right is secured in place with velcro. I intended for my mom to adhere a present day photo on the center mat and place older photos and do some journaling on the wallet. On the first panel, I glued a printed a poem on cardstock. I made the wallet using 3 regular letter envelopes. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Here are some detailed photos.

I also made a video but I forgot to use the tripod so I apologize in advance if I make you nauseous! LOL!

This was really fun, you should give it a try! Thanks so much for stopping by. Please let me know if you have any questions.

National Scrapbooking Day

Hello scrappy friends,

I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed NSD. I went to a day crop hosted by my cousin and had a fantastic time with old friends and met some new ones. Thanks Fanny for hosting such a great crop and making such great food (yummy brownies)!!!

Though I mostly spent the day chatting and laughing, I managed to make two layouts. Can you tell I'm playing catch-up here? I have some many pictures on my desk waiting to be scrapped...

Birthday Girl
For my first LO, I used a Me and My Big Ideas kit I bought at Michael's. There were so many stickers and PP left over! Those kits are a great value! These photos were taken last year on Emily's birthday. Dylan was only 5 weeks old, I was still swollen!

For my second LO I used some OLD Bo Bunny paper I had in my stash for a while. This picture was taken last Easter. I also used lots of mini Prima roses, LOVE them!

As always, have a very creative week! Thanks for visiting!!!
