My Creative Scrapbook Christmas!

I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season! To help you celebrate, My Creative Scrapbook has put together an amazing line-up of gorgeous kits. I was fortunate to play around with the LE Kit and here are some of my creations...

This kit features the Turtle Dove collection by Kaisercraft along with some stunning embellishments. These papers were just so easy to work with! Here's another layout...

I also altered a little gift card tin.

In addition to these projects, I created another layout that I'll be sharing in my next post along with a video tutorial. Until then, here's a picture of the whole kit, isn't it amazing?!
Don't forget to visit My Creative Scrapbook, the gallery is just bursting with holiday projects for your inspiration.

Step By Step Saturday with Glitz Design

Good morning and happy December! With the holiday season in full swing, I thought I'd share some ideas in card-aking for my step-by-step assignment today over at the Glitz blog. Let me show you how to create this quick and easy Christmas card!

1. Start by inking your card base. I used a cream cardstock base.

2.  Cut and distress a piece of the Banner paper and adhere it with the burlap side up. I normally don’t measure, just cut a quarter of an inch smaller than the card.
3.  Next, cut and distress a smaller piece of the same paper, this time, let the burgundy side show.
4.  Add one more layer of Santa pattern paper.

5.  Cut a strip of the Banner paper and punch one side of it, then adhere on the bottom of your card.
6.  Tuck a piece of ribbon on the left side of your card. My ribbon happens to coordinate beautifully with the Banner paper and it also has a gold trim.

1.  Finish with a piece of burlap, an element from the Whatnots pack, and some flowers.
I also decided to add a couple of Giant Rhinestones. Here's a closer look...

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Have fun creating holiday cards and projects!

Fall Beauty

Hello there! I hope you're all having a fantastic fall season. Though Thanksgiving has passed, and we're gearing up for Christmas, you may still be wanting to create some family and 'thankful' pages for your album. I was excited to look though my Glitz stash to find items that would remind me of the beautiful colors we see in nature this time of the year.

My first layout was created using mostly papers from the Joyeux Noel collection (not just for Christmas, this collection is soooo versatile!) and a couple of floral picks I found in the clearance section of my local craft store.

The vibrant green color in the Floral and Stripe papers worked really well with the floral pick. Since I don't store my layouts in page protectors, I'm really not concerned about the page being too bulky, but if you are, choose a pick without berries and pinecones. That is one easy way to make the supplies you already have fit any theme! Here's a closer look...

For my second layout, I wanted to scrap one of my favorite photos of my children. The warm yellow and neutral grey tones in the Yours Truly collection were the perfect backdrop for my picture.

I chose to journal right on the pattern paper. I find that I'm more likely to record my thoughts if I don't fuss too much about it with tags and hidden tabs.

That's it for today! I hope I've inspired you to use your Glitz products in non-traditional ways to scrap any seasonal theme.

Anything Goes!

Happy weekend! If you're looking for a challenge to inspire your creativity, swing by Once Upon A Sketch. This month, we don't have a theme! That means you can scrap any photo using any paper collection of your choice, anything goes! Here's what I created...

I usually don't scrap photos of myself... but I thought this was a rare good one! It was taken last spring while attending a wedding in the most beautiful country setting, you might be able to spot the gorgeous barn in the background.

I used Prima papers, flowers and embellishments. The chipboard title is by Imaginarium Designs. I also played with my new favorite Prima mask to add a bit of texture.

I decided to add the journaling right on the photo as I edited it on Photoshop Elements. It reads... "Once in a while, right in the middle of ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale."

And here's a peek at the beautiful sketch created by my talented friend, Nadia...

I hope you get a chance to play along with us, it's always a lot of fun visiting your blogs and looking at your gorgeous creations!

Shabby Chic November Memories

Hello everyone! I hope you are all safe and sound. As you probably know, the north east of the United States fell victim of hurricane Sandy. My heart goes out to all of those affected by this horrible storm. My family and I were lucky not to have much damage to our house. We also lost power for a few days but are thankful to be safe and sound. My blessings and good wishes go to all who suffered and still suffering. If you are able to, please help any way you can, every little bit helps.
On a happier note, My Creative Scrapbook is happy to announce its line-up of fabulous November kits. I was fortunate to create with the gorgeous LE kit which features the beautiful and shabby chic Prima Tea-Thyme collection along with gorgeous flowers and resin embellies.

My first layout uses a photo of my kids I recently took while apple picking. Though this is not a themed kit, the warm colors make it perfect to scrap fall family photos. Here's a closer look...

For my next page, I did a little masking and combined it with a black and white photo of the same day. Absolutely love the colors in this kit!

My third layout is fairly simple. The kit includes a pack of Artisan square elements from Pink Paislee that make it a breeze to complete your page.

I did a bit of stamping on the background to add interest while keeping my design simple.

Finally, I created a tag using a piece of recycled corrugated cardboard and my new favorite photo of the kids.

Here's a look at the entire LE kit, there's so much to love here!
Thank you for stopping by today... don't forget to stop by the gallery at My Creative Scrapbook for more inspiration from the talented DT girls. Have a happy and sage week!
