All Done With Christmas

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to have finally finished my Christmas layouts for this year. Am I the only one still working on holiday pages? I had purchased the Father Christmas collection by Pink Paislee and would have felt really guilty if I had not used it. Love these distressed papers and thought they were perfect to whip up a couple layouts of my son. I made two layouts, one for our 2009 album and one for his first year album as well.

Pink Paislee Artisan Swirls were so much fun to work with! I painted them with acrylic paint to get this olive green shade. I also inked all the edges with my Pumice Stone Distress Ink. Love the smoky look without adding too much black.

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you liked these projects. Have a great weekend!

Sweet Season - Flamingo Scraps

Hello everyone! Here's a layout I created using Webster's Pages Sweet Season paper collection, which is available at Flamingo Scraps. As you know I love their online store because of their incredible selection and amazing prices.

These are my two munchkins so proud of the gingerbread house they made this year. They didn't seem able to keep their hands off the icing!

I covered the house images with Rock Candy Distress Stickles and added Glitter Snow for texture. Are the candy sprays familiar? They're from Michael's floral section!

These alphas are from Jillibean Soup. They were blue so I painted them white and inked them with Antique Linen Distress Inks and topped them with Glitter Snow.

Be sure to check out Flamingo Scraps. Hint, hint, be on the lookout for their Glimmer Mist section featuring the hard to find, discontinued colors we all fell in love with!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Christmas Wish Mini Album

Hello everyone! I know it's the end of January but I just got finished making my Christmas mini album. I am sooo behind in Christmas projects but I'm determined to use all the holiday supplies I acquired this year!

For this mini, I used a chipboard book and frame I got at Michael's dollar bin. The paper collection I used was the Webster's Pages 6x6 combo which includes Sweet Season and Waiting For Santa.  I wanted to create an album to hold photos of our entire Christmas 2009. This little mini is jam-packed with pockets and tags and holds a total of 45 photos! Each page displays pictures of our family traditions during the holidays.

I just love the 7Gypsies Naked pockets. I added one here and punched holes to make it into a page!

I bound this pocket in a landscape orientation and hid inside a 'mini within a mini' with a series of photos of my children opening and playing with their presents on Christmas Day 2009.

To see all the pockets and tags I included in this mini album, click here.  Thanks for visiting me today, have a warm week! It's been pretty frigid here in the East Coast!

Coordinates Collections January Blog Hop Challenge

It's time for another blog hop challenge over at the Coordinates Collections blog. Now that the holidays are behind us and life is (hopefully) slowing down, I encourage you to take some time to play along. This month's challenge is...Circles!

Circles add visual interest to your pages and with are sooo many possibilities to incorporate them into your layouts, I'm sure you will enjoy designing with this challenge in mind. Weather you choose to cut your background, your photos, or add a circle as a decorative element (think doilies... hint, hint!), just have fun with it!

Here's a page I created using January's Amish Quilt kit which includes gorgeous papers and embellies from Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934. This whole collection is very vintage and beautiful, I just loved working with it!

In the photo is my DD. A few years ago while on vacation, a photographer set up an Old West scene at the hotel we were staying at and we all took vintage portraits on site. For this layout, I decided to cut out the saloon scene behind her. It was actually very funny to have a toddler parading around on top of the bar of a saloon! Here are a few close-ups:

Quick tip: alter your chippies! The banner was part of the chipboard sticker sheet included in the kit but they were all in different colors and I didn't want that. My solution, I adhered them to pattern paper on the reverse side and cut them out!

Hope you have time to join us. The challenge is open till January 20th! Click over to the CC blog for more info on how to play for a chance to win some scrappy goodness!

Coordinates Collections' Sleigh Ride Projects

Happy New Year!!! I hope 2011 is treating you well so far! I'm excited to share with you my first projects of the year.

You are going to love this month's Sleigh Ride kit from Coordinates Collections! It's full of yummy products from Echo Park and Fancy Pants. I really loved the blue, brown and white tones and thought it was perfect to scrap photos of my little man playing in the snow.

To complement this fun kit, I ordered additional sheets of paper, stickers and Bo Bunny trims. My first project is this card with the cute little snowman on the sticker sheet. I loaded him with Diamond Dust and made him look chunky and sparkly!

I layered some more of the blue and brown pattern papers and dry-brushed the edges with white paint to create this next page. To make my clear bling more 'boy friendly', I colored it brown using Ranger alcohol ink in Ginger. I also added Glitter Snow to a Pima velvet poinsettia and more Diamond Dust on the snowflakes. This is really sparkly in person!

My last project was pretty simple since I really wanted to focus on the beautiful photo. This was my son's first time touching the snow and he was just in awe! Again, I created snowy edges with white paint, I also added Stardust Stickles to the stickers.

I just loved the sparkly lace from Bo Bunny so I just used hot glue to create this snowflake/bloom and the giant bling as a center.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! To see what the other talented DT ladies created with this kit, head over to Coordinates Collections. Have a great week!!!
